Frequently Asked Questions

Breast Pumps

  1. How do I get a breast pump through my insurance?
Breast pumps are a covered benefit with most medical insurance plans. Aeroflow is a preferred provider with many commercial and medicaid plans. To find out if we partner with your insurance plan, complete our Qualify Through Insurance Form using your primary medical insurance. One of our Specialists will work directly with you and your insurance to determine your benefits.

  2. Can I get more than one breast pump?
Most insurances will cover one breast pump per pregnancy. Oftentimes this refers to any kind of breast pump (manual, single electric, double electric, and hospital grade).

  3. Can I qualify for a hospital-grade breast pump?
Hospital-grade breast pumps are multi-user pumps used in a hospital setting that are not necessary for every mom. Please visit our hospital-grade reference page for more information.

  4. Does my insurance cover additional supplies?
Some insurance plans cover additional supplies after your baby is born. Your Specialist will check your insurance coverage to see if you are eligible. For more information on this program please visit our helpful blog post.

  5. What is a breast pump insurance upgrade?
Insurance covers what is medically necessary to express breast milk toward a standard electric breast pump. A breast pump upgrade includes convenience features or items that are not covered by insurance and require the additional payment.

  6. Can I use my HSA/FSA funds to purchase an upgrade breast pump and breast pump accessories through Aeroflow?
Our website does accept FSA/HSA cards as a form of payment. Learn more on our FSA and HSA page. Each FSA/HSA plan has different guidelines, so we always recommend checking with your plan for any specific questions.

  7. When can I get a breast pump?
You can qualify for your breast pump through insurance at any time during your pregnancy and up to one year postpartum. However, some insurance policies may dictate when we are actually able to ship your breast pump.
